Having spent a great deal of her life growing up in the Yorkshire Dales, Lesley eventually returned to Scotland in 2000. She has a passion for horses, dogs, wildlife and the outdoors which she tries to reflect in her artwork, both paintings and glass.
Working full time since studying Business & Finance in Harrogate, N Yorkshire she has been employed by the NHS, Careers Service and private companies. Additionally, owning and competing horses for most of her life, she has organised large equestrian events and been proprietor of a small riding school and livery yard. In more recent years she has organised annual art exhibitions and trips for her local art group of which she was Secretary for 7 years.
Now in the throes of organising the first ever Alyth Creates – A 3 day Festival which will be focusing on Art and Craft, Creative Workshops, Music, Demonstrations, Theatrical Performance with Music and Poetry, Outdoor Activities (escorted nature trail bike rides, archery etc) Classic Car show, Herittage Talks and Walks, Film ….. she is also planning the rest of the years exhibiting and work to fit in with an ever busy schedule… Find ALYTH CREATES on facebook to follow all the activities including a huge art and craft fair and open studios event.

1989 12 week Stained Glass course followed by assisting American glass artist Ann Fredo with commissions.
Various private commissions – windows, door panels, lamps and small items
1991 Further glass related courses in San Jose, California. Decorative soldering, acid etching Craft fairs, commissions in USA.
1992 – 2009 Various glass commissions in UK whilst also working full time .
2008 Joined Dundee Art Society – commenced exhibiting paintings
2009 Public Voted Favourite Painting at DAS Autumn Exhibition – Chilly November, Alyth Den
2012 Runner up for Trophy, Spring Exhibition, Dundee Art Society
2010 Purchased large flatbed kiln and started producing fused glass
2012 Selected for & Voted Best Amateur – Meffan Institute Gallery, Forfar, Winter Exhibition £200 Cash prize – Invergowrie Sunset – painting sold
