Lesley spent her childhood in various parts of England, settling in the Yorkshire dales for almost 20 years before eventually returning to Scotland in 2000 following a few years in California. She now lives in Alyth, Perthshire with her partner Jonathan Mitchell – a professional painter known for his stunning work in oil. They have a studio at home and a larger workshop nearby for the messier tasks such as glass, framing and woodworking. Lesley has had a life-long passion for horses, dogs, wildlife and the outdoors, reflected in her artwork, both paintings and glass.
Originally studying Business, she worked for the NHS and careers service, including event planning roles. This came in handy upon her return to Scotland, running a livery stables and competition yard and previously organising County level equestrian shows in Yorkshire. Additionally, she was Secretary of a local art group for 7 years and has now completed year 3 of coordinating a multi platform 3 day festival of art, heritage, music and outdoors Alyth Creates alongside the local Arts & Crafts Guild team.
She has had a decades love affair with rural France, visiting every summer with her partner to cycle and also work on their old barn conversion project which might eventually become home…
